Mt. Hope Power Show

The steam traction engine was the predecessor of the gas tractor. It was used for belt and drawbar work. The steam engine used fire to heat the water in the boiler to make steam. It then used the expansive force of steam in a cylinder to create power. The steam engines at the show will be kept busy powering a sawmill, threshing machines, power-eater, Baker fans, steam engine games, and spark shows at night. Corrine Horner’s Children’s activities will be going on throughout the show. Also be sure to check out our new sawmill, in action for the first time this year!

Christian illustionist and comedian Jared Hall uses illusions and comedy to present the gospel of Jesus Christ in relevant, engaging ways. Traveling extensively across the nation, Jared performs his illusions for many conferences, festivals, outreach events, youth camps, and Upward award nights. An extraordinarily gifted songwriter, musician and vocalist, Gordon Mote has overcome many obstacles on his way to becoming an accomplished studio musician and soloist. Since stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Mote has recorded an impressive body of work—three instrumental and six vocal albums—including the Dove Award-nominated If You Could Hear What I See (2004), Don’t Let Me Miss the Glory (2007), Songs I Grew Up Singing (2012) and his acclaimed Christmas collection The Star Still Shines (2012).
